From a young age Anna cultivated a reverence for plants and animals by caring for their family's houseplants and garden in San Diego, and designing bioactive terrariums for their slimy and scaly pets. In Anna's teenage years, they founded a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that collected and donated art supplies to youth.

Anna now calls Northern California their home and has shifted from painting tropical birds, seashells, and ocean-dwellers to amphibians, fungi, and rare plants. Much of their inspiration comes from their college experience working at the UC Davis Botanical Conservatory, where they interfaced with hundreds of rare plant species, and backpacking in the Sierra Nevada range, Cascade Range, and the coast.
